This policy explains how session cancellations and agreement terminations work at Innerbloom Tutoring. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Parent Agreement, and is aligned with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

1. Cancelling an Individual Session

To keep scheduling fair for our tutors and other families, we ask for the following notice:

  • Standard notice: Sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Late cancellations: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session will be charged in full, as the tutor has already reserved that time.
  • No-shows: If a learner does not attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the session is charged in full.
  • Emergencies: Genuine emergencies, such as sudden illness or family emergencies, are considered on a case-by-case basis. We may waive the cancellation fee where sufficient explanation is given as soon as reasonably possible.

2. How to Cancel a Session

All cancellations must be sent directly to Innerbloom Tutoring through our agreed communication channel. Cancellations sent directly to a tutor are not valid and may still be charged.

3. Ending Your Tutoring Agreement

Either you or Innerbloom Tutoring may end the overall tutoring agreement by giving 30 days’ written notice.

This is more generous than the minimum notice period required under the CPA, which entitles consumers to cancel an ongoing agreement on 20 business days’ notice, without needing to give a reason.

Innerbloom Tutoring may suspend or end services immediately in cases of misconduct, non-payment, or breach of the Parent Agreement.

4. Fees Already Paid

If you cancel your agreement with us, any fees already paid for sessions that have not yet taken place will be refunded, less any late-cancellation or no-show charges already incurred.

Refunds will be processed within 7 business days.

5. Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act

In line with the CPA, we will never charge a cancellation fee designed to penalise you for exercising your right to cancel, or that outweighs any reasonable loss to us.

This policy, together with our Parent Agreement, does not limit any rights you have under the CPA.
